So I'm glad I can have such a lazy summer and all, but god, I'm starting to get so over the top bored now. I can't even hang out by the pool because we keep getting these shitty thunderstorms that just kind of hang around all day long. I should have taken my japanese culture class during summer B. Didn't plan that out very well. Would have actually been an excellent idea. Oh well, nothing to do about it now. :<

I'm thinking about buying a macbook/macbook pro 13" in the fall, but I can't decide if a mac will irritate me or not. Anyone have really good/bad experiences with macs? I know people love them, I just want to make sure I will before I drop $1000. Guess it's hard to truly know until it's too late.

phew. Had to stay overnight at my grandparents' house and drive them around today for my Grandmother's colonoscopy. They drain me so much, I don't know if it's the way they talk or all the little questions they always ask, but just exhausting. Had to get up at 6am for this thing, got back around 11, and then they wanted me to activate their new pay as you go cell phone, and I almost snapped, I was so damn tired.

I'm so sad the university canceled the annual 4th of July fireworks. Canceled for money reasons of course. It's so disappointing though, because it's the only real festival kind of thing we ever have, and the only fireworks in town. I love my fireworks. :<

On another sad note, I was subscribed to only 2 magazines, the same ones for the past 3 years, and they both just tanked. And of course they send crappy magazine replacements. Neither of which are even close to my liking. Need to refund that shit. Especially for Maxim. I really don't need that in my mailbox thx.

So I FINALLY made the switch from IE to Firefox just like everyone has been telling me to for years. And wow. It really is faster. I had a few "problem" web pages that would always lag or freeze up, and they zip through firefox. Very nifty.

In my abundant free time, I switched the rooms of my apartment so now my bedroom is in the front room, and the backroom is my study room/office thing. I actually really like it. The front room is quieter and cooler for sleeping, and I get the nice daytime light for reading and everything in the back room. Plus I have sooo much more room than that little office niche I was using before. I still have some work to do on it, but it's looking pretty good. I should have long lazy breaks more often, I eventually start accomplishing things.

I hate Florida and its ungodly hot summers. Yuck.

Also: seriously need a job. Like, I have absolutely no money need a job. :DDD But lazy summers are kind of awesome. Not having money to do anything, not so much. But still.

Got back from Japan yesterday. It was an amazing trip. Just tons of fun. We saw a bunch of cool temples, Nijo Castle, and the old imperial palace, did some good shopping, ate yummy food. mmm. I just love the feel of Japan. It feels completely different than than the US. There's just less shitty behavior there. And the subway/train system was awesome. Also: their love of French bakeries is the best. So much delicious food, especially the sweets. Just omg amazing. We went out to Nagano one day to visit Kenji's uncle and grandmother, both of whom spoke only Japanese. It was actually really fun because we got to really use everything we had learned so far. And we understood a surprising amount of what he said. I think his uncle really got a kick out of it too. He took us to a Kaiten-zushi (rotating sushi bar) while we were there. There were also little touch screen menus to order from, and when your item came, it came on this little rail with a mini Shinkansen train carrying the sushi. It was hilarious. The whole experience was just amazing. I know I definitely want to go back, and hopefully with much more japanese under my belt.

And wow, flying business class kicks ass. The 15 hour plane ride was actually bearable. God bless those big comfy reclining seats.

Soooo Kenji thinks he'll be ready to leave for Japan by next Tuesday. Which would be cool as long as he isn't still/doesn't become sick. They're fever scanning people getting off the planes, and it would just suck to be sick in a hostel, seriously.

It's birthday season in my family now. Grandma's birthday was Friday, and my dad's was today. So lots of fun going outness has been happening. Which is good because it stops me from being horribly bored since my main source of entertainment has been out of commission for the last week. That and everyone else seems to be taking summer classes which started today. Boo for that. I want to hit up the beach some time... I've been hanging by the pool, which feels so nice since it's already like 95 degrees outside. Also, 30 Rock is my new favorite show. I just wish the PS3 could stream netflix. I hate sitting at my desk watching it for hours. Such a hard life, being a lazy summer bum.

-Shitty day.
-Skidded into a large bush yesterday at 50mph. Lost my left turn signal and fucked up various other elements of my car. Woke up early and had car sort of fixed today.
-Kenji is sick. No Japan next week. Possibly not at all.
-Star Trek was some good ol' fashion sci-fi. And very pretty.
-Came home at 2am to dozens of ants invading the kitchen. Just fantastic.

Damn passports are expensive. It's already $100, and then another $75 for expedited processing and overnight shipping. Should have ordered that shit before I had a deadline. :< I better still be going this summer after spending all this money.... Though I know I'll need it senior year anyway, so it's not THAT big of a deal. Also: saving money is depressing. I have nothing yummy to eat at all. And I only have like half the ingredients for anything I could try to make. Damn you Publix, always sucking me back in for more! But Thursday morning, I'm makin banana and chocolate chip pancakes for sure. mmmm.

Siiiigh boring week before finals on Saturday.

Today was japanese skit filming day! What a mess. We were supposed to meet at 10, but only one other person showed up because our other group member didn't wake up until 10:15. So it was just me and my one group member sitting around my apartment for an hour. Fun times. I'm afraid we kind of killed the point of the skit at the end. I was supposed to be running away through the window, but we couldn't actually get the screen out, so I'm just talking through the window instead. But hey, this ain't a film class, so what the hell. Surprisingly, my Canon powershot camera took a better video than the video camera I used last semester. And much easier to get video off a flash card than a miniDV tape.

Classes are basically over. I still have japanese until Wednesday, but we don't have anymore homework or dialogues to memorize, so it's like a free week! Accounting final this Saturday, then QMB next Tuesday, followed by Japanese final on Friday. I have 2 days between each final, so it's a pretty good time line.

I can't decide what my 4th class should be next fall. I think Chinese art history is out, because it just doesn't sound like my cup of tea. So now it's between Age of Dinosaurs, which is supposedly the easiest physical science class ever created, and Modern Japanese fiction in translation, which sounds cool, but it probably a shitload of reading a writing. Combines with my other classes I just don't want to be spending my every waking hour reading and/or writing something. But it is japanese, and I do need it for my major, plus it probably won't be offered again in the spring, so... Decisions, decisions. One bonus to age of dinosaurs is that I'll use up one hour of my 2 hour time gap, and I'll finish classes at 3 instead of 4 MWF.

wow easter is fun I've eaten way too much sugar today. I still enjoy the easter hunt at my dad's house. The eggs are full of money, which is the only reason to actually look for them. That and the challenge of finding them as fast as possible. I think I may have set a record this morning. We had brunch today around 11 with the whole dad/mary side of the family. Shamus is getting so big! He's 15 months old, and he ate an entire cup of green mousse this morning. With his hand, of course. I talked to Kevin and Emily at brunch about working at the movie theater over the summer. It sounds like a fine job. In the A/C, no greasy food, no people high on pain meds who smoke too much whining to me..... Good enough for me. Evidently both theaters are hiring, so hopefully I'll be able to get a job at one of them. Definitely need to work this summer. Rent and such. Plus I'd like to get a mac laptop if at all possible. My birthday in July should help with that a bit too. Anyway, I'll see how it all goes down. But my pc is getting crappier by the day it seems. I can't stand it for too much longer.

I feel better since the last time I posted. I don't know if I got over it a little bit or if my whining and moodiness helped get my point across, but I'm feeling a little bit more okay. So hopefully it will last a while. I hate, HATE feeling depressed. Especially for extended periods of time. It's just not fun.
